Brick Work

No previous experience is necessary and all training is practical with no written work. Training is carried out in a purpose built training bay which will be allocated to you at the start of your course. The course covers:

  • Learning about bricklaying tools and materials
  • Working safely
  • Marking and measuring
  • Cutting bricks and blocks to size
  • Using the correct bonding
  • Finishing and pointing
  • Building walls and corners
  • Working to plans
  • Decorative techniques

 

Once you have completed your course you will have gained a first-rate working knowledge of the skills and techniques to build success in bricklaying.

  • Mixers
  • Power Tools – including 110 volt systems
  • Brick Trowel  large and small
  • Pointing Trowel
  • Jointing Iron
  • Club Hammer
  • Brick Hammer
  • Comb/Skutch Hammer
  • Comb/Skutch Chisels
  • Line & Pins
  • Corner Blocks
  • Bolster Chisel
  • Cold / Plugging Chisels
  • Spirit Level
  • Boat Level
  • Builders Square
  • Gauge Rod
